LIFE OR DEATH
Proverbs 18:21 – “Death and Life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Our words can bring life and healing, but our words can also bring deep hurt and pain.”
Matthew 12:34b – “For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.”
1. SPEAK WORDS OF HEALING
Acts 9:32-33 – “Now it came to pass, as Peter went through all parts of the country, that he also came down to the saints who dwelt in Lydda. There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed.”
Acts 9:34 – “And Peter said to him, ‘Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.’ Then he arose immediately.”
Psalm 107:20 – “He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions.”
Acts 9:34 (AMP 1987) – “And Peter said to him, ‘Aeneas, Jesus Christ the Messiah now makes you whole.’”
Acts 9:34 (NLT) – “Peter said to him, ‘Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you! Get up and roll up your sleeping mat!’ And he was healed instantly.”
JESUS CHRIST HEALS YOU!
JESUS CHRIST NOW MAKES YOU WHOLE!
We want to speak words of healing in Jesus’ Name!
2. SPEAK WORDS OF LIFE
Acts 9:36-37 – “At Joppa, there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and charitable deeds which she did. But it happened in those days that she became sick and died.”
Acts 9:40 – “But Peter put them all out and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body, he said, ‘Tabitha, arise.’ And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.”
Matthew 10:8 – “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
I believe God is who He says He is. And I believe He can do what He says He can do.
I BELIEVE IN A GOD WHO CAN DO MIRACLES! HOLY SPIRIT, I NEED YOU RIGHT NOW TO COME AND BREATHE LIFE BACK INTO MY SON!
Arise – Stand up, rise again.
COME ALIVE IN JESUS’ NAME!
Stand! Believe! And receive!
3. SPEAK WORDS OF FORGIVENESS
Acts 9:35 – “So all who dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.”
Acts 9:42 – “And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord.”
Acts 10:43 (NLT) – “He is the One all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in Him will have their sins forgiven through His Name.”
Whoever turns to Jesus Christ and believes in Him, receives forgiveness of sins.
We want to speak words of healing, words of life, and words of forgiveness in Jesus’ Name.
Discussion Questions:
1. Share of a time you were impacted by someone’s words in a positive, life-giving way.
2. Share of a time you were impacted by someone’s words in a negative, hurtful way.
3. Looking back on the words you have spoken this week, have your words been more positive or more negative?
4. Our words change as our heart changes. What changes does the Holy Spirit want to bring into your heart?
5. Are you willing to speak the Word of Healing, the Word of Resurrection Life, or the Word of Forgiveness into someone’s life as the Holy Spirit gives you opportunity?
