CALL TO REPENTANCE and Prayer
Matthew 4:17 – From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Joel 2:12 – “Now therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart.”
Lamentations 5:21 – Turn us back to You O Lord, and we will be restored. Renew our days as of old.
Joel 2:15 – Blow the trumpet in Zion, consecrate a fast, call a sacred assembly
1. REPENTANCE IN THE BODY OF CHRIST
Revelation 2:4 – Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.
Revelation 2:20 – Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.
Revelation 3:16-17 – So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, “I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing” – and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.
2. REVIVAL IN THE BODY OF CHRIST
Acts 3:19 – Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the Presence of the Lord.
Acts 4:31 – And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Matthew 3:11 – I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Romans 12:11(AMP) – Never lagging behind in diligence, aglow in the Spirit, enthusiastically serving the Lord
3. REPENTANCE ON BEHALF OF OUR NATION
Daniel 9:5 – We have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments.
Nehemiah 1:6 – Both my father’s house and I have sinned.
Deuteronomy 5:7 – You shall have no other gods before Me.
Psalm 139:13(NIV) – For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Acts 17:26 – And he has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth.
Matthew 19:4 – Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female,
Matthew 19:5 – And said, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?”
4. AWAKENING IN AMERICA
Psalm 85:6 – Will you not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?
Habakkuk 3:2 – O Lord revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.
James 2:13 – Mercy triumphs over judgment.
