EVERY BELIEVER – BORN INTO THE ROYAL PRIESTHOOD

1 Peter 2:9 – But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Revelation 1:5 – And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood.

Revelation 1:6 – And has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever, Amen.

Jesus is our Great High Priest – We are born into His Royal Priesthood when we are born again.

Hebrews 3:1 – Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus.

Priests – Represent God to the people, and represent the people to God

Jesus is the perfect fulfillment of this calling.

We are anointed by the Spirit to walk in this same calling in Christ.

What does this mean?

1.     Every believer has direct access to our Heavenly Father through the blood of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 10:19 – Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the holiest by the blood of Jesus.

Hebrews 4:16 – Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

2.     Every believer can hear the Voice of God

John 10:27 – My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

3.     Every Believer can read and understand the Word of God

John 14:26 – But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

4.     Every Believer can share the Good News of Jesus Christ

Mark 16:15 – And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”

5.     Every believer can pray.

John 16:24 – Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

6.     Every Believer can pray for the nations

Psalm 2:8 – Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.

7.     Every Believer can stand in the gap for our nation.

Ezekiel 22:30 – So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.
