HOW TO MINISTER HEALING
1. Believe Jesus is Who He Says He is
He is our Healer.
Exodus 15:26b – “For I am the Lord who heals you.”
He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Hebrews 13:8 – “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
2. Believe we are Who He Says we are
We are the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
We are ambassadors for Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:20)
We have been given power (dunamis). (Acts 1:8)
We have been given authority (exousia). (Luke 10:19)
We are to do the works that Jesus did. (John 14:12)
As believers, we are to lay hands on the sick and they will recover. (Mark 16:18)
Every believer can pray for the sick.
How do we pray for the sick?
A. Keep your heart clean and ready. (Psalm 24:4)
Matthew 5:8 – “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
B. Be aware of divine opportunities.
Ephesians 1:18a – “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened.”
C. Share the truth of the Word to build faith and change the atmosphere.
Isaiah 53:5b – “By His stripes we are healed.”
Matthew 8:17 – “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”
Psalm 103:3 – “Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.”
D. Conduct a short interview with the person you are praying for.
Mark 9:21a – “So He asked his father, ‘How long has this been happening to him?’”
– What is your name?
– How can we pray for you?
– How long have you had this issue?
– Was there any trauma in your life shortly before this?
E. Choose a prayer method.
Prayers of petition – Father, we ask for healing in Jesus’ Name.
Command – In the Name of Jesus, be healed.
Is there anyone you need to forgive before we pray for healing?
F. If possible, lay hands on the sick.
Mark 16:18b – “They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Praying as a team is best.
G. As we pray, take time to ask what the Lord is doing.
John 5:19 – “Then Jesus answered and said to them. ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.”
H. Post prayer encouragement.
