Our identity in Christ is not only who we are in Christ, but what happened to us with Christ.

Four powerful truths for us with Christ:

1.      We have been crucified with Christ

Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

My old life died on the cross with Christ.

Jesus now lives in me by the power of the Holy Spirit.

2.      We have been buried with Christ

Romans 6:6 (NJKV) Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.

Romans 6:4 (NKJV) Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the Glory of the Father, even so, we also should walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:11 (NKJV) Likewise, you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

3.      We have been resurrected with Christ

Ephesians 2:1 (NKJV) And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins.

Ephesians 2:4-5 (NKJV) But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved.)

4.      We are seated in Heavenly places in Christ

Ephesians 2:6 (NKJV) And raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 3:1-3 (NKJV) If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
