Passion for Prayer

 1. What is Prayer?

Ps. 91:1 (NKJV) He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

TEACH US TO DWELL

1 Thess. 5:17 (NKJV) pray without ceasing,

POSITION FOR OUTPOURING

Acts 1:14 (NLT) They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.

(NKJV) These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication,

2. Embrace Your Role in Prayer

Mtt. 6:10a (NKJV) Your kingdom come, and your will be done

Mtt. 6:10b (NKJV) On earth as it is in heaven

God meets us in our decision to pursue a discipline and births passion!

3. Pursue the Pathway of Prayer

Matthew 6:6 (MSG) “Here’s what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.

Matthew 6:7-13 (MSG) “The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They’re full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don’t fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this:

Psalm 100:4 (MSG) Enter with the password: “Thank you!”
Make yourselves at home, talking praise.
Thank him. Worship him.

Psalm 100:4 (KJV) Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him and bless His name.

Corey Russel: “It isn’t Mary vs Martha, is Mary before Martha!”

Is. 30:18 (NKJV) Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you;
And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
Blessed are all those who wait for Him.

3)      Church that has prayer as the heart of every part of church, infiltrating the whole body.
