THE KEY TO REAL TRANSFORMATION – STAYING MUSHY

1. We are Called to Live a Life of Transformation

2 Corinthians 3:18 (ESV)

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:18b (TPT)

We are being transfigured into His very image as we move from one brighter level of glory to another.

2. The Key to a Life of Transformation – Keeping a Mushy Heart

Proverbs 4:18 (NASB)

But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.

Ezekiel 36:26 (ESV)

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Matthew 5:3-6

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

A. How to Keep a Mushy Heart

Colossians 3:10

Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like Him.

a. Humility (Go Low)

Colossians 3:12

Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

b. Forgive

Colossians 3:13

Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

c. Live a Lifestyle of Worship

Colossians 3:16b

Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.

d. Lifestyle of Gratitude

Colossians 3:17

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

3. Keeping a Heart of a Lover

Revelation 2:2-3 (NKJV)

I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My Name’s sake and have not become weary.

Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place-unless you repent.
