JEHOVAH SHAMMAH – THE LORD IS THERE

Ezekiel 48:35 (NLT)

The distance around the entire city will be 6 miles. And from that day the name of the city will be “The Lord Is There.”

The Lord has been there.

The Lord will be there.

The Lord is here.

How do we move from “The Lord is There” to “The Lord is Here”?

Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT)

Then Jesus said, “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you. Let Me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

1. Lead Your Heart Toward Him

Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV)

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Matthew 6:21 (NLT)

Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.

Mark 12:30

And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.

2. Humble Yourself Before Him

James 4:10 (NKJV)

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

3. Worship Him

Ezekiel 43:3-4 (NLT)

This vision was just like the others I had seen, first by the Kebar River and then when He came to destroy Jerusalem. I fell face down on the ground. And the glory of the Lord came into the Temple through the east gateway.

Ezekiel 43:5-6

Then the Spirit took me up and brought me into the inner courtyard, and the glory of the Lord filled the Temple. And I heard someone speaking to me from within the Temple, while the man who had been measuring stood beside me.

Ezekiel 43:7

The Lord said to me, “Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place where I will rest My feet. I will live here forever among the people of Israel.”

Our response can be to awareness, or we can respond in faith and experience increased awareness through our obedient response.

Acts 4:31

After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.

4. Obey Him. Choose Obedience.

If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

Ezekiel 47:5

Then he measured another 1,750 feet, and the river was too deep to walk across. It was deep enough to swim in, but too deep to walk through.

Then he said to me, “This river flows east through the desert into the valley of the Dead Sea. The waters of this stream will make the salty waters of the Dead Sea fresh and pure.”

Life will flourish wherever this water flows.
