ALL YOUR HEART

 2 Kings 23:25

Now before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him.

10,000 Wa people, and 60,000 Lahu people gave their lives to Jesus Christ because a foreigner from America showed up in their land with the Book that tells us about the one true God.

 2 Kings 22:1

Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem.

 2 Kings 22:2

And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord and walked in all the ways of his father David; he did not turn aside from the right hand or to the left.

 2 Chronicles 34:3a

For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young; he began to seek the God of his father David.

 2 Kings 22:8

Then Hilkiah, the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the Lord.”

 2 Kings 22:11

Now it happened, when the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, that he tore his clothes.

The Lord wants to bring a deep change in us and then work through us to impact those around us.

 1. Rediscover the Power of the Word

The Word of God in Josiah’s time had been lost, forgotten, and covered with dust.

 2 Timothy 3:16a

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God.

 Matthew 4:4

But He answered and said, “It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”

There are people all around us who are hungry for the truth of the Word of God!

 2. Repent of Sin

2 Kings 23:25aNow before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart.

Turn – Turn back, repent, return.

That is the call of God for us as individuals, as families, as a church family, and as a nation.

King Josiah tore his clothes in deep godly sorrow when he heard the Word of God.

 2 Corinthians 7:10a

For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted.

Biblical repentance is a change of mind that leads to a change of heart that leads to a change of direction that leads to a changed life.

King Josiah turned to the Lord with all of his heart.

The Holy Spirit is bringing all of us to the place of giving all of hearts to Jesus Christ!

King Josiah had the temple and the land cleansed from all idolatry, immorality, pagan altars, and child sacrifice.

As we give Him all of our hearts, He can cleanse all of our hearts, and fill our hearts with His glory!

 3. Recommit Our Lives to Jesus Christ

 2 Kings 23:3

Then the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to follow the Lord and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statues, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people took a stand for the covenant.

That is the place the Holy Spirit wants to bring each one of us: to take a stand for Jesus Christ!

Take a stand – present ourselves for service.

Romans 1:16

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jews first and also for the Greek.

 2 Kings 23:22

Such a Passover surely had never been held since the day of the judges who judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel and the kings of Judah.

LORD, HELP ME TURN TO YOU WITH ALL OF MY HEART!
