“Wait in Jerusalem, until you have been baptized in the Holy Spirit and fire.” - Acts 1:5
“You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be My witnesses.” - Acts 1:8
GET PLUGGED IN AND CHARGED UP
In John 15:15, Jesus tells the disciples that they are no longer servants BUT FRIENDS. And because they are friends, He said, “All things that I have heard from the Father, I have made known to you.”
John 16:12-13 – “I have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.”
What the Father has to say to the world, to the church, concerning the end times, concerning nations, concerning politics, concerning the future – is ongoing.
THE REVELATION HAS NOT STOPPED
John 16:13 - “However, when the Spirit comes, He will guide you into all truth…whatever He hears, He will speak and disclose to you what is to come.”
1 Corinthians 2:2-3 – “For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and much fear, and much trembling.”
Then we get to vs 10, Paul says that God revealed these mysteries by the Spirit: “For to us God revealed these mysteries through the Spirit; for the Spirit; for the Spirit searches the deep things of God.”
Paul goes on in verse 11 to explain that no one knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of that man. AND, in like manner, no one knows the deep things of God or the thoughts of God – except the Spirit of God.
THE KEY: vs. 12 - “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, (why?) so that we might know the things freely given to us by God.”
(So that we might know the thoughts of God)

Romans 8:26-27 – “And in the same way the Spirit helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and God who searches the hearts also knows what the mind of the Spirit is because He intercedes for us (the saints) according to the will of God.”
* WE DON’T KNOW HOW TO PRAY AS WE SHOULD. But who does? The Father. And who reveals the thoughts of the Father to us? The Holy Spirit.
Maybe that’s how Paul was able to say, “I pray in tongues MORE THAN YOU ALL.” (1 Cor. 14:18)
Romans 8:28 – “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those called according to His purpose.”
Why is speaking in tongues usually the first gift or manifestation of receiving the Holy Spirit?
1. It deals with the flesh. (Control, leaning on our own understanding)
2. WE GET PLUGGED IN AND GET CHARGED UP as deep calls unto deep and we pray the secret thoughts of God’s heart.
Jude vs. 20 – “Build yourself up in your most holy faith, praying in the Spirit.”
1 Corinthians 14:4 – “He who speaks in tongues edifies himself.”
