CONDEMNATION, CONVICTION, & GOD’S GRACE 

Romans 8:1 – “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”

Condemnation is a guilty verdict with the sentence carried out.

Condemnation is guilt without hope of restoration.

John 3:17 – “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Acts 2:37 – “Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, ‘Men and brethren, what shall we do?’”

Acts 2:41 – “Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.”

John 16:8 – “And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.”

Condemnation is guilt without hope of restoration; conviction is guilt with hope of restoration.

What is grace?

Ephesians 2:8 – “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.”

Luke 2:40 – “And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.”

Acts 4:33 – “And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.”

Acts 11:23 – “When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.”

The grace of God is a supernatural empowerment to do and be what we cannot do and be apart from that empowerment.

James 4:6 – “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: ‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.’”
