FELLOWSHIP WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

2 Corinthians 13:14“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.”

2 Corinthians 13:14 (NLT)“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”

What is the Greek word for fellowship?

Koinonia – fellowship, partnership, close relationship, communion

The Holy Spirit creates fellowship between believers.

We can have fellowship through the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:46)

We can also have fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is a Divine Person.

He is the third Person of the Trinity.

“I want to introduce you to my Friend, the Holy Spirit.” – R.A. Torrey

“Holy Spirit, I hunger for You.” – Claudio Freidzon

Pastor Cho cried out to the Father, and the Lord said, “You must get to know and work with the Holy Spirit.”

How to know and work with the Holy Spirit.

1. How to Have Fellowship with The Holy Spirit

A. Remember He is a Divine Person.

Matthew 28:19“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

B. Recognize that He is a Divine Person living on the inside of us.

John 14:17“The Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him, but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”

C. Repent of neglecting Him, overlooking Him, grieving Him, disobeying Him, and not consulting Him.

John 16:13“However, when He, the Spirit of Truth has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

Ephesians 4:30“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”

D. Receive Him and welcome His Presence in your life.

Acts 19:2“He said to them, ‘Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?’”

E. Respond to Him – listen and obey Him.

Acts 16:6“Now when they had gone through Phrygia, and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the Word in Asia.”

F. Rewards of fellowship with the Holy Spirit

We are refreshed (Acts 3:19). We have peace (John 14:27). We are directed (John 16:13).

2. How to Partner with The Holy Spirit

We are called to partner with the Holy Spirit to advance the Kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 3:9a“For we are God’s fellow workers.”

2 Corinthians 6:1“We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain.”

Sun = with; Ergeo = work; Sunergeo is literally “work with”

We are called to work with the Holy Spirit.

2 Corinthians 5:20a“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us.”

Mark 16:20“And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word through the accompanying signs. Amen.”

Acts 10:19-20“While Peter thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, ‘Behold, three men are seeking you. Arise therefore, go down and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them.’”

The Holy Spirit is the Senior Partner. We are junior partners.

The Senior Partner tells the junior partner what to do.

We follow His lead. We surrender to His leadership.

It is a joy and blessing to partner with the Holy Spirit.

3. Invitation to Consecration and Surrender

We want to surrender control of our lives to the Divine Person of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:14“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.”
