STANDING FOR LIFE

This week is our adoption week for Love life Charlotte.

We are invited to all come out to the abortion clinic on Latrobe Dr. this Saturday at 9 AM and join with other churches in the area to stand for life.

Why is it important for us to show up in front of the abortion clinic next Saturday?

1. BE A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS

We are there to speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves.

Proverbs 31:8“Open your mouth for the speechless, in the cause for all those who are appointed to die.”

Proverbs 31:9“Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

Every child in the womb is precious to the Lord.

Psalm 139:13“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me (knit me together) in my mother’s womb.”

Psalm 139:14“I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.”

Every child in the womb is made in the image of God.

Genesis 1:27“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God, He created him; male and female He created them.”

Every child in the womb has destiny and purpose.

Jeremiah 1:5“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

“I just needed that little push and you were the other voice I was seeking to hear from other than my own.”

2. STAND AGAINST THE POWERS OF DARKNESS

Ephesians 6:12“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

We are standing for life, but we are also standing against the powers of darkness and the powers of death.

We are standing against the spirit of death in Jesus’ Name.

In the Name of Jesus Christ, we are pushing back the darkness!

2 Corinthians 4:6“For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of the darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

3. CRY OUT TO GOD WITH ONE VOICE

We gather together as the church to cry out to God with one voice.

Romans 15:6“That you with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

We repent on behalf of our nation.

We cry out for mercy.

We pray for the Holy Spirit to bring conviction and life change to all involved.

2 Chronicles 7:14“If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

4. OFFER HOPE AND HELP AS THE BODY OF CHRIST

Matthew 16:18b“Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

Matthew 16:19 (KJV)“And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

The problem is not the darkness; the problem is the absence of light.

Matthew 5:14“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

1 John 1:9“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Discussion Questions:

1. Have you thought of yourself as being a voice for the voiceless?

2. Why do you think it is challenging for us to stand for life in our culture?

3. What are some of the things that motivate you to stand for life?

4. What are some of the action steps the Holy Spirit is calling you to take as you stand for life?
