How do we enter into, and continue to grow deeper in the Fire of Revival?
1. STAY HUNGRY
We are grateful and thankful for what God is doing, but we are hungry for more!
Nehemiah 9:1 – “Now on the twenty-fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, in sackcloth, and with dust on their heads.”
Nehemiah 9:3 – “And they stood up in their place and read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for one fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshipped the Lord their God.”
Psalm 63:1 – “O God, You are my God, early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.”
Psalm 63:2 – “So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory.”
Lord, increase the hunger in our lives for more of You!
2. STAY REPENTANT
Nehemiah 9:2 – “Then those of Israelite lineage separated themselves from all foreigners; and they stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.”
Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
1 John 1:7 – “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
Iniquity – to bend or distort; the evil bent within human beings
Nehemiah 9:17 – “They refused to obey, and they were not mindful of Your wonders that You did among them. But they hardened their necks, and in their rebellion, they appointed a leader to return to their bondage. But You are God, ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abundant in kindness, and did not forsake them.”
Isaiah 53:5 – “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”
3. KEEP PRAISING
Nehemiah 9:5 – “And the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, ‘Stand up and bless the Lord your God forever and ever! Blessed be Your glorious Name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise!’”
Acts 3:19 – “Repent therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”
4. KEEP YIELDING
“The Heavenly Father does not ask for golden vessels, He does not ask for silver vessels. God asks for yielded vessels – those who will submit their will to the will of the Father.” – Kathryn Kuhlman
Nehemiah 9:38 – “And because of all this, we make a sure covenant and write it: Our leaders, our Levites, and our priests seal it.”
Matthew 26:28 – “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
Nehemiah is a picture of the Holy Spirit who has come to rebuild us, restore us, revive us, and flow through us to impact the world around us.
