EVERY BELIEVER IS A SON OF GOD

Sonship is positional. 

Definition of position: a place where someone or something is located or has been put.

It is not based on gender.  Sonship is given to all who believe and receive Jesus as Lord.

John 1:12 – “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His Name.”

Galatians 3:26 – “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 8:19 (ESV) – “For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.”

Strong's Greek 5207: A son, descendent

a. Identity of a son: A son is approved.

Ephesians 1:5 – “He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will.”

b. Characteristics of a son

Romans 8:14 – “…led by the Spirit…”

c. Mindset of a son

No longer orphans, slaves, or servants.

Luke 15:11-32 (Prodigal Son)

d. Sons have authority in the spiritual realm.

Matthew 28:18-19

e. Sons have been given an inheritance.

Colossians 1:12 – “Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light.”
