Mark 4:35-41 & Matthew 14

-Only Peter exercises faith to press in closer to Jesus in the midst of crisis

Discoveries:

1.      External crisis can function to stir up places of deeply hidden internal crisis

2.      Jesus sees it as opportunity to heal and grow us up in Him

James 1:2-4  “Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.  And let endurance have it’s perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

Go after roots!

Philippians 2:12-13  “…work had to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.  For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.”

John 16:33  “I have told you all of this so that in me you may have peace.  Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows.  But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
