2020-05-20 | THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE

We are in a battle with an invisible enemy. President Trump

We know we are fighting an invisible virus, but we are also fighting an invisible spiritual enemy.

Ephesians 6:12 – For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

We are in a wrestling match against the powers of darkness. The word is hand to hand combat.

We fight from a place of victory already won through the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Colossians 3:15 – Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (in the cross)

We have also been given powerful weapons to defeat the enemy and enforce the victory of the cross.

2 Corinthians 10:4 – For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.

Over the next several weeks we want to look at some of those weapons.

Tonight, we want to look at the Power of the Blood of Jesus Christ!

Revelation 12:11 – And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

This verse speaks of the weapon of the Blood. How do we use this powerful weapon?

1.      WE BELIEVE THE POWER OF THE BLOOD

Faith is believing God and His word

Romans 10:17 – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Our first step is to see what the Word says about the Blood of Jesus.

Leviticus 17:11 – For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.

Hebrews 12:24 – To Jesus, the Mediator of the New Covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

How does the blood of Jesus speak? Through us, through our testimony

2.      WE DECLARE THE POWER OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST

Derek Prince – As believers we must testify personally to what the Word says that the blood does for us.

Derek Prince – Our testimony is like the hyssop that took the blood of the Lamb out of the basin and placed it upon the door of each Hebrew family.

Revelation 12:11 – And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Our declaration flows out of relationship with Him.

We declare with our mouth, what the Word declares about the Blood.

Six Scripture Declarations about the Power of the Blood:

1.      I am protected by the Blood of Jesus Christ

Exodus 12:13 – Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

Billie Brim – Ministry of Judd Montgomery protected in Oakland by California Earthquake in early 1900’s

2.      I am redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ

Ephesians 1:7 – In Him we have redemption through His blood

To Redeem – to rescue, to set free, for someone to pay a price for your freedom

Squanto – Native American captured, sold into slavery, redeemed by a Christian, later came back to America and  helped the Pilgrims

3.      I am forgiven and cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ

1 John 1:7 – But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

4.      I am justified by the Blood of Jesus Christ

Romans 5:9 – Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

5.      I am declared holy, set apart, by the blood of Jesus Christ

Hebrews 13:12 – Therefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.

6.      I have access to the Father, through the blood of Jesus Christ

Hebrews 10:19 – Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus….

Derek Prince – When we testify to the blood of Jesus, the Holy Spirit bears witness to His work of redemption in our lives. It is our testifying that releases the operation of the blood in our lives.
