JESUS – THE WONDERFUL COUNSELOR
Isaiah 9:6 – For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:7 – Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
In the time of Jesus, names were very important: they revealed character, purpose, and destiny.
Jesus Christ is the Wonderful Counselor.
Wonderful – miraculous, extraordinary, marvelous, something astounding that causes amazement.
Acts 10:38 – How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Counselor – One who gives sound advice, sound counsel and great wisdom.
Isaiah 11:2 – The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might.
Colossians 2:3 – In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Psalm 16:7 – I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel.
How do we walk in His Divine Direction and experience His miraculous power in our lives?
1. ASK AND RECEIVE THE COUNSEL OF GOD
James 4:2 – Yet you do not have because you do not ask.
James 1:5 – If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God…
Proverbs 8:34 – Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
Proverbs 8:35 – For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord.
Psalm 46:5 – God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
Daniel 2:23 – I thank You and Praise You O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of You.
2. WALK BY FAITH IN THE MIRACLES OF GOD
John 14:12 – Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to my Father.
Every believer can be filled with the Spirit of God, walk in the miracles of God, and advance the kingdom of God.
3. GIVE ALL THE GLORY TO GOD
Colossians 1:27 – Christ in you, the hope of glory.
1 Corinthians 1:27 – But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.
1 Corinthians 1:29 – So that no flesh should glory in His Presence.
1 Corinthians 1:31 – As it is written, He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.
Jeremiah 9:23 – Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches.
Jeremiah 9:24 – But let him who glories, glory in this, that he understands and knows Me.
Matthew 6:13 – For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
