Mark 16:15 NLT

Acts 1:4

And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, which He said, you have heard from Me.

For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.

Acts 1:8

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Acts 2:1-2

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 

Acts 2:3

Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 2:6

And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.

Acts 2:16-17

But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and daughters shall prophecy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.

Acts 2:18

And on My menservants and on My maidservants, I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophecy.

Acts 2:41

Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

Matthew 5:14-15

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

Matthew 5:16

Let you light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

1. SAY YES TO THE CALL OF GOD

Acts 1:8 NLT

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be My witnesses, telling people about Me everywhere – in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

A. The power of the Holy Spirit is the power to love people.

Romans 5:5b

Because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

B. The power of the Holy Spirit is the power to minister to people.

Mark 16:18b

They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.

C. The power of the Holy Spirit is the power to share Jesus with people.

Acts 1:8b NLT

And you will be My witnesses, telling people about Me everywhere.

2. SAY YES TO THE SPIRIT OF GOD

Acts 2:4a

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit!

Acts 1:5b

But you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.

3. SAY YES TO FRIENDSHIP WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

John 16:7

Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart. I will send Him to you.

Acts 2:4

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Partnership – They spoke. The Holy Spirit gave them the words.

Utterance – words motivated by a divine, prophetic impulse.

Every Believer can partner with the Holy Spirit!

GOD, I TRUST YOU. I WANT EVERYTHING YOU HAVE FOR ME. I WANT TO BE EMPOWERED THE SAME WAY THE DISCIPLES WERE IN THE UPPER ROOM! I OPEN ALL OF MYSELF TO YOU, TO RECEIVE ALL OF YOURSELF IN ME!
