PRAYING IN SECRET – GOD’S SECRETS IN THE SECRET PLACE

Matthew 6:5 (EXB) – “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that others may see them.  Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.”

Matthew 6:6 (EXB) – “But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret.”

Psalm 91:1 – “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

1. Cross

Galatians 2:20 – “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

Colossians 3:1-2 – “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.  Set you mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”

Colossians 3:3-4 – “For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.”

Colossians 3:5“Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”

1 John 3:17 (KJV) – But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

Hebrews 4:15For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with out weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Jude 1:3“Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.”

Colossians 4:12“Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.”

4. Continue

Colossians 4:2“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.”

Luke 6:12 – “Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.”

5. Captives

Isaiah 61:1“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.”

Jude 1:20-22“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal Life. And on some have compassion, making a distinction.”
