COVERED BY THE BLOOD
Colossians 1:13-14 (NLT) – “For He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of His dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.”
I HAVE BEEN RESCUED!!
Deuteronomy 18:9 (NLT) – “When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, be very careful not to imitate the detestable customs of the nations living there.”
Detestable – offensive, repulsive, an abomination
Deuteronomy 18:10-11 (NLT) – “For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering. And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead.”
Fortune-telling, palm reading, tarot cards, horoscopes, and ouji boards are all forbidden.
Sorcery – Pharmakeia – drugs, incantations, charms and magic (Revelation 9:21)
Witchcraft – expression of rebellion against God (1 Samuel 15:23)
Witchcraft – its driving force is a desire to control people and circumstances. As an occult practice, it works through spells and curses. (Derek Prince)
Deuteronomy 18:12 (NLT) – “Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord. It is because the other nations have done these detestable things that the Lord your God will drive them out ahead of you.”
Deuteronomy 18:13-14 (NLT) – “But you must be blameless before the Lord your God. The nations you are about to displace consult sorcerers and fortune-tellers, but the Lord your God forbids you to do such things.”
Deuteronomy 18:15 – “The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear.” (Acts 3:22)
Isaiah 60:1 – “Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.”
Isaiah 60:2 – “For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.”
How do we get clean from the darkness? How do we protect our families from the darkness? How do we shine bright for Jesus amid increasing darkness on the earth?
1. RECEIVE CLEANSING THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST
Deuteronomy 18:9 (NLT) – “When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, be very careful not to imitate the detestable customs of the nations living there.”
Deuteronomy 18:12a (NLT) – “Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 – “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
We can be forgiven and cleansed through the blood of Jesus Christ!
1 John 1:7 – “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
I AM CLEANSED AND SET FREE BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST!
2. RECEIVE THE COVERING OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST
Exodus 12:13 – “Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.”
We are protected by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 12:11 – “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”
Psalm 4:8 – “I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”
Exodus 23:25 – “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.”
Joshua 24:15b – “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
I AM PROTECTED BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST!
3. RECEIVE ANOINTING AND AUTHORITY THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST
Leviticus 14:14 – “The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.”
Leviticus 14:17 – “And of the rest of the oil in his hand, the priest shall put some on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.”
When we are cleansed by the blood, we can be anointed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
By the Spirit and the Blood, we can hear the Voice of God.
By the Spirit and the Blood, we can lay hands on the sick and they will recover.
By the Spirit and the Blood, we can walk in the delegated authority of Jesus Christ.

1. Have you ever been involved in any of the occult practices mentioned in Deuteronomy 18?
2. If you have, have you repented and renounced those things?
3. Is your family or household under attack by the powers of darkness?
4. Would you be willing to take the steps that Jack Hayford and his family took?
5. Are you walking in the anointing and authority that Jesus purchased for you?
