Prince Of Peace
Isaiah 9:6 – For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
On Christmas Day in 1914, in the midst of WWI, a miracle happened on the battlefield.
Silent Night, Holy Night, Son of God, Love’s Pure Light, Radiant Beams from Thy Holy Face, with the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord at thy birth.
We need an encounter with Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace!
For unto us a Child is born – Jesus was born for us so that we could be born again in Him.
Unto us a Son is given – The divine Son of God took on human flesh for us. John 1:14
The government will be upon His shoulder. Jesus is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
His name will be called Wonderful – He is full of wonder, full of miracles.
Counselor – Jesus is the wisdom of God, upon Him is the spirit of counsel and might. Isaiah 11:2
Mighty God – Jesus Christ is God. He is the Second Person of the Trinity. John 1:1
Everlasting Father – Jesus said when we see Him we see the Father. John 14:9
Prince of Peace – Jesus is Jehovah Shalom, the Lord our Peace.
Shalom – Peace, prosperity, success, completeness, soundness, wholeness, health, harmony, unity
Romans 14:17 – For the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
How do we enter into that peace, abide in that peace and live together in that peace?
STEP INTO PEACE WITH GOD
Romans 5:1 – Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Without Jesus Christ we are separated from God by the power of sin.
Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Isaiah 53:5 – The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
By faith we turn from sin, we receive Jesus Christ, and we have peace with God.
ABIDE IN THE PEACE OF GOD
Worry, fear, anxiety, and stress, are all tools of the enemy to rob us of peace.
How do we abide in His peace?
Philippians 4:6(NLT) – Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done.
Philippians 4:7 – And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Peace, peace, wonderful peace; Coming down from the Father above. Sweep over my spirit forever I pray, with fathomless billows of love.
Isaiah 26:3 – You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because He trusts in You.
LIVE IN PEACE WITH ONE ANOTHER THROUGH GOD
Jesus died on the cross to make us whole.
Jesus died on the cross to make us one. The blood of Jesus Christ makes us one!
Ephesians 2:13 – But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Ephesians 2:14 – For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation.
Jesus’ Blood breaks down dividing walls that separate us
Pastor Leon Threatt – “As believers, we are already one on Jesus Christ.”
BY THE GRACE OF GOD, THIS DAY, WE CHOOSE TO FORGIVE, WE CHOOSE TO LET GO OF OFFENCE, WE CHOOSE RECONCILIATION, WE CHOOSE THE CROSS, WE CHOOSE THE BLOOD, WE CHOOSE SHALOM.
