Consecration
1 Chronicles 29:11 – Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; for all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all.
God works through people.
Giving to Missions at Joy is already even greater than last year, and last year was a record.

What would the Lord say to us through this powerful prayer?
PRAISE THE LORD OUR KING AND ACKNOWLEDGE HIS OWNERSHIP
1 Chronicles 29:10 – Blessed are You, Lord God of Israel, Our Father, forever and ever.
1 Chronicles 29:11 – For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours.
Psalm 24:1 – The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.
1 Chronicles 29:16(NLT) – It all belongs to You.
GOD OWNS EVERYTHING. WE DON’T OWN ANYTHING.
1 Chronicles 29:14 – For all things come from You, and of Your own we have given to You.
EVERYTHING WE HAVE, COMES FROM HIM.
James 1:17 – Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.
1 Chronicles 29:13 – Now therefore, our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name.
Thank – yada: extend the hand, lift up our hands in thanks and praise
Praise – Hallelujah: Praise God with great enthusiasm
SEEK TO WALK IN THE WISDOM OF THE KING
1 Chronicles 29:14(literal) – Everything that exists is from You, and we administrate it from Your hand.
We are called to administer what God has given us for His Glory.
Steward – a manager of another person’s property or estate
We are stewards of the King of Kings.
Everything we have belongs to Him, but is entrusted to us to manage for His Glory
We need God’s wisdom to rightly manage all that He has given to us.
James 1:5 – If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
1 Chronicles 29:15 – For we are aliens and pilgrims before You.
Pilgrim – Temporary resident
Proverbs 13:22 – A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.
WE GIVE EVERYTHING BACK TO THE KING
1 Chronicles 29:14 – For all things come from You, and of Your own we have given You.
1 Chronicles 29:5 – Who then is willing to consecrate himself this day to the Lord?
Consecration is giving back to the Lord what is already His.
We consecrate our children to Him
Psalm 127:3 – Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord.
We consecrate our time to Him
Psalm 90:12 – So teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
We consecrate our finances to Him.
Deuteronomy 8:18 – And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth.
Abraham Lincoln – We have grown in number, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God.
We consecrate ourselves to Him
Romans 12:1 – Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable to God.
As we surrender ourselves to Him, we find ourselves in Him.
Discussion Questions
Would you say that you tend to be a grateful person or a complaining person? Why?
Do you see yourself as a steward or manager of all that has been entrusted to you?
Is there an area of your life in which you need wisdom to be a better steward?
Is there an area of your life that needs to be consecrated afresh to the Lord?
Do you live as if God was the owner of your life or you are the owner of your life?
