The Three P’s of Worship

WISE MEN STILL WORSHIP HIM

 Matthew 2:10-11 (NLT) – When they saw the star they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child with His mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped Him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

 

THE PLACE OF WORSHIP

We Worship in the House of the Lord

Psalm 122:1 (KJV) I was glad when they said unto me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.”

Matthew 18:20 (NKJV) – For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.

We Worship in Our Own House

Matthew 2:11 (NLT) They entered the house.

Luke 19:5 (NKJV) And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”

House – building, family, household

 We Worship in Our Hearts

 Ephesians 3:17 (NLT) Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him.

When our heart becomes His home, everywhere we are, He is. Everywhere we are, can become a place of worship.

The Purpose of Worship “Why Worship?”

What worship is not! For I am the Lord, I do not change;… (Malachi 3:6 NKJV)

God alone is entitled to Worship! …You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve. (Matthew 4:8-10 NKJV)

Worship is the Appropriate Response to the revelation of who God is! for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV)

Father looks for True Worshipers! But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. (St. John 4:23,4 NKJV)

Heaven is filled with Worship! And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, … (Revelation 11:16 NKJV)

POSITION OF WORSHIP

Mateo 2:11 (RVR) Y entrando en la casa, vieron al niño con su madre María, y postrándose, le adoraron; y abriendo sus tesoros, le ofrecieron dones, oro, é incienso y mirra.

Génesis 24:26 (RVR) El hombre entonces se inclinó, y adoró á Jehová.
