JEHOVAH SHALOM

Shalom – Harmony, Peace, Wholeness, Prosperity, Health, Soundness, Completeness

Shalom – May your life be blessed, fulfilled, satisfied, prosperous, healthy, and in harmony with the Lord, others, and yourself.

Judges 6:24a (NKJV)

So Gideon built an altar there to the Lord and called it The-Lord-is-Peace.

Jesus Christ is our peace. He is Jehovah Shalom. (Ephesians 2:14)

Ephesians 2:14a

For He Himself is our peace.

The price of that peace was His death on the cross. (Colossians 1:19-20)

Having made peace through the blood of His cross.

The Results of that Peace:

1. Peace with God (Romans 5:1)

Romans 5:1

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

2. Peace of God (Philippians 4:7)

Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

3. Peace through God with One Another (Romans 12:18)

Romans 12:18

If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

There is peace where Jesus rules and reigns. (Romans 14:17)

Romans 14:17

For the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

“Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.” – St. Francis of Assisi

How do we walk in the Peace of God with Jehovah Shalom?

1. Cry out to the Lord for freedom from anything robbing us of His Shalom.

Judges 6:6

So Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord.

2. Repent of any disobedience or idolatry.

Judges 6:10

Also I said to you, “I am the Lord your God; do not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.” But you have not obeyed My voice.

3. Believe we are who the Word says we are in Christ.

Judges 6:12

And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!”

Judges 6:15

So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”

4. Believe we can do what His Word says we can do.

Judges 6:16

And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”

5. Surrender to the Holy Spirit and receive His Fire.

Judges 6:21

Then the Angel of the Lord put out the end of the staff that was in His hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and fire rose out of the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. And the angel of the Lord departed out of his sight.

6. Obey the voice of the Lord.

Judges 7:2

And the Lord said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’”

7. Give God all the glory and point people to Him.

Judges 8:23

But Gideon said to them, “I will not rule over you, nor shall my son rule over you; the Lord shall rule over you.”
