EVERY BELIEVER CAN WALK IN WHOLENESS

Luke 4:16 (NKJV) “So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.”

Luke 4:17-19 (NKJV) “And He was handed the Book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the Book, He found the place where it was written: ‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.’”

Luke 4:20-21 (NKJV) “Then He closed the Book and gave it to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, ‘Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.’”

Luke 4:18 is the mission of Jesus Christ.

His mission is our mission.

Jesus preached the Good News of forgiveness and new life: Luke 19:1-10 (Zacchaeus), John 3:1-21 (Nicodemus)

Jesus brought the Good News of deliverance from the powers of darkness: Mark 9:14-29 (young boy set free)

Jesus brought the Good News of physical and emotional healing: Mark 1:40-41 (the leper), Mark 10:46-52 (blind Bartimaeus), Mark 5:25-34 (woman with the issue of blood)

Jesus brought the Good News of God’s jubilee: Matthew 17:24-27 (Jesus miraculously provides the temple tax)

How do we receive the wholeness that Jesus brings?

1. REPENT

Matthew 4:17 (NKJV)“From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, ‘Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.’”

Turn away from sin; turn to Jesus.

Turn away from any bitterness and unforgiveness. Choose to forgive.

Turn away from any ungodly soul ties.

2. REMOVE THE ENEMY

Take authority over the powers of darkness and command them to leave.

Luke 4:18“…to set at liberty those who are oppressed…”

Matthew 8:16 (NKJV) “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. He cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick.”

3. RECEIVE HEALING

Luke 4:18 (NKJV) “…He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted…”

Psalm 147:3 (NKJV)“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

Ask Jesus to heal every wounded place in our hearts – all trauma, rejection, and abandonment.

Receive physical healing by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Luke 4:18 (NKJV) “…to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind…”

4. REPLACE UNGODLY THOUGHTS WITH THE TRUTH OF THE WORD

UGB – UnGodly Beliefs

I am insignificant. I am unacceptable. Something is wrong with me. Things will never change.

Replace every UGB with the truth of the Word of God.

Meditate on the truth of the Word day and night.

Psalm 1:1-2 (NKJV) “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.”

Psalm 1:3 (NKJV) “He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”
