THE HARVEST

John 4:35 – Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest.

I believe this is a season of Harvest in America and around the world.

Romans 10:14 – And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?

The Holy Spirit wants to impact broken lives, broken families, and broken communities through us.

How does it happen?

1.     SEE THE HARVEST

John 4:35 – Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest.

Look beyond yourself, there is a mission field of broken humanity all around us.

Ephesians 1:18 – The eyes of your understanding(heart) being enlightened.

2. PRAY INTO THE HARVEST

Matthew 9:36 – But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

Matthew 9:37-38: Then he said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

3. REACH OUT TO THE HARVEST

a.     Be Led by the Spirit

John 4:4 – But He needed to go through Samaria.

Romans 8:14 – For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

b.     Be Engaging in Conversation

John 4:7 – A woman of Samaria came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”

John 4:4 – Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you  ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water.”

c.      Be Open to the Gifts of the Holy Spirit

John 4:16 – Jesus said to her, “Go call your husband, and come here.”

John 4:17-18: The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.”

Jesus said to her, ”You have well said I have no husband, for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you have spoken truly.”

d.     Be ready to Share Your Story

Every believer in Jesus has a story to share.

John 4:28-29: The woman then left her water pot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, “Come see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”

John 4:39 – And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.”

John 4:42 – Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the World.”
