Luke 19:1-2
Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.
Luke 19:3-4
And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.
Luke 19:5-6
And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” So he made haste and came down and received Him joyfully.
Luke 19:7-8
But when they saw it, they all complained saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.” Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half my goods to the pour; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore four-fold.”
Luke 19:9-10
And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Luke 19:5
And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
Luke 19:10
For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

What are we saved from?
1. We are saved from a life of emptiness and selfishness
Matthew 16:26
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?
Matthew 5:6
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
2. We are saved from separation from God in this life
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.
Romans 6:23a
For the wages of sin is death.
Jeremiah 2:13
For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns – broken cisterns that can hold no water.
3. We are saved from a life separated from God for all eternity
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
What are we saved for?
1. We are saved for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Luke 19:6
So he made haste and came down and received Him joyfully.
John 15:15b
I have called you friends.
2. We are saved for a life of purpose and kingdom advancement
Luke 19:8
Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”
3. We are saved for a life spent with Jesus and His people forever
2 Corinthians 5:8b
to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
Philippians 1:23
Having a desire to depart and be with Christ.
Three steps to receive Jesus Christ or rededicate your life to Him:
A. REPENT
Acts 3:19
Repent therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the Presence of the Lord.
B. BELIEVE
Acts 16:31
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.
Romans 10:9 NLT
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
C. RECEIVE
John 1:12a
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.
Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me.
