FAMILIES ON FIRE FOR JESUS CHRIST
Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (NKJV)
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
Deuteronomy 6:8-9
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
“It was into the home that sin first came. It is in the home that revival first needs to come.” – Roy Hession
Luke 19:5
And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
Jesus wants to go home with us today!
He wants to bring revival fire into our families!
“Revival is the life of Jesus filling us and freely flowing through us: nothing between us and God; nothing between us and others.” – Roy Hession
Deuteronomy 6:4b
The Lord is one!
One is echad, unity, one united.
How do we experience family revival?
1. Say Yes to Jesus Christ and His Grace
Grace – unmerited favor because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross
Grace – the Holy Spirit doing in me and through me that which I cannot do in and of myself
Deuteronomy 6:5
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Acts 16:31
So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
Acts 16:32
Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.
Acts 16:33
And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized.
2. Say Yes to the Written Word of God
Deuteronomy 6:6
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.
"If God really has your heart, your heart will attract your children’s heart like nothing else on earth.” – Bruce Wilkinson
Deuteronomy 6:7
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
Teach diligently – repeat them, impress them, literally sharpen them as arrows
Psalm 127:3
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.
Psalm 127:4
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth.
We want to sharpen our children in the home and then release them as arrows into the world!
A. Spend time together.
B. Eat meals together.
C. Read the Word together.
D. Pray together.
E. Laugh together.
F. Serve the Lord together.
G. Go on adventures together.
3. Say Yes to Forgiveness
Deuteronomy 6:4
Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one!
John 17:21
That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.
Mark 11:25
And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.
“Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door of resentment and the handcuffs of hatred.” – Corrie Ten Boom
Colossians 3:13
Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
I am sorry.
I was wrong.
Please forgive me.
I forgive you.
I love you.
The Holy Spirit is inviting us to the foot of the cross where we can find healing, forgiveness, and freedom.
