ALL THINGS NEW

1. Start

“While events cannot be unwritten, they can be redeemed.”

Psalm 107:2 (NIV)

Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story, those He redeemed from the hand of the foe!

“It’s not too late to change the story you’ll tell one day.” –  Craig Groeschel

Zechariah 4:10a (NLT)

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.”

“Be faithful in the small things because it is in them that your strength lies.” – Mother Teresa

“It’s the things no one sees that result in the things everyone wants.” – Craig Groeschel

Daniel 6:10 (NLT)

But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.

2. Stop

Ask yourself:

A. If I go down this road, what story will I end up telling?

B. Is that what I want my story to be?

“Pause, not only to consider the consequences, but also to choose to stop traveling in the wrong direction. The word repentance literally means to change course, to stop walking in one direction and return to God and His path for us.” – Craig Groeschel

Exodus 18:17 (NIV)

Moses’ father-in-law replied, “What you are doing is not good.”

“Many times, we must let go of what we’ve been holding, so we can receive what God wants to give us.”

A. If I keep doing “fill-in-the-blank”, what story will I be telling?

B. Is that what I want my story to be?

“There’s no telling what your bad habit, wrong mindset, or unhealthy pattern could cost you if you don’t stop.” – Craig Groeschel

3. Spirit–Empowered

A. He is the Promise of the Father! (John 15:26 – …from the Father…)

B. He is our Comforter! (John 14:15-18 – …Comforter…)

C. He is our Wisdom and Revelation! (Romans 8:9-17 – …the Spirit Himself testifies…)

D. He is the Might of God! (Acts 1:8 – …receive power…)

Discussion Questions:

1. Are you happy with your story in its current form?

2. Have you ever felt frustrated about trying to make a change happen in your life (if yes, please share)?

3. What are ways that work well for you to connect with and release the power of the Holy Spirit in your life?

4. What have you decided to start and stop (pick one for each)?

5. Share about your strategy to accomplish these two goals.
