WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?

Romans 12:2 – And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Romans 12:2(NLT) – Don’t copy the behaviors and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

We can be truly born again, but until our mind is renewed we find ourselves thinking like the world.

Bill Johnson – “A transformed mind transforms a person, and a transformed person transforms a city, and a transformed city impacts a nation.”

Joe McIntyre – “The first nation you need to take the gospel to is your imagination.”

Proverbs 23:7 – For as he thinks in his heart so is he.

Conformed to this world – Shaped and squeezed into the mold of the world

Transformed – Metamorphosis – change of form from caterpillar to butterfly

Renew – Renovate

I have a Heavenly Father who loves me.

We are sons and daughters of the Most High God through faith in Jesus Christ

How do we align ourselves with the Holy Spirit so He can renew our minds?

SURRENDER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

Romans 12:1(NIV) – Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.

The heart of worship is offering ourselves to Him.

The renewal of our minds begins as we submit our minds to Him.

RECOGNIZE AND RENOUNCE THE LIES OF THE ENEMY

Pastor Luke – “The soul wounds of our past open our minds to the lies of the enemy.”

Dr. Beverly Rogers – “Born again but battling the enemy in her mind.”

The battlefield is in the mind!

Renounce – To stand against in Jesus’ Name

2 Corinthians 10:5 – Bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ

Bill Johnson – “Renewing your mind means learning to recognize what comes from hell, what comes from heaven, and agreeing with heaven.”

Francis Frangipane – “Every area of your thinking that glistens with hope is an area which is being liberated by Christ. Any area without hope indicates a stronghold which must be pulled down.”

Dr. Beverly Rogers – “The enemy is a defeated foe in our lives and applying God’s Word sets us free from his power.”

REPLACE THE LIES WITH THE TRUTH OF GOD’S WORD

Repent of believing the lie – Change your mind

Read the Word of God

John 8:32 – And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free

Meditate on the Word of God

Psalm 1:2 – But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.

Psalm 1:3 – He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you.

Declare the Word of God

Job 22:28 – You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways.

2 Timothy 1:7 – For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
