Reap what you sow

Galatians 6:7 – Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

Galatians 6:7-8(MSG) – Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.

You reap after you sow

“If you have a need plant a seed” – Rick Warren

Galatians 6:9(NLT) – So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

Genesis 26:12(NLT) – When Isaac planted his crops that year, he harvested a hundred times more grain than he planted, for the Lord blessed him.

You reap more than you sow

2 Corinthians 9:6 – Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.

2 Corinthians 9:10 – For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.

Questions for discussion/reflection:

Share a time when you are aware of reaping what you sowed?

Talk about different motives for sowing in your life and how you can safeguard your motives to keep them kingdom minded?

What are some aspects of your life that you haven’t thought of as seeds before?

What’s an area of your life that God is leading you to sow differently (in the Spirit rather than the flesh)?
