GOD OF WONDER

Genesis 3:8 – And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the Presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Genesis 1:1 – In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Psalm 147:4 – He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.

    There are over one billion trillion stars in the universe.

Romans 1:20 – For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.

Genesis 1:27 – So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

    We were made to have a personal relationship with the God of the universe!

    We were made to partner with God and walk in His delegated authority and dominion.

Genesis 1:28 – Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it, have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

    Sin entered the world through the disobedience of Adam and Eve. Through sin came death,
disease, destruction, and division.

Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.

Isaiah 53:6 – All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned, every one, to his own way.

    Without Jesus Christ we are spiritually lost, separated from God, and dead in sin.

Luke 19:10 – For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

How can I have a personal relationship with the God of the universe?

1.    BELIEVE THAT GOD IS REAL

Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

    We believe that He is. From Creation we see that He is Eternal, Powerful, and Personal.

John 14:9 – Jesus said, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father.”

2.    BELIEVE THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST

1 Corinthians 15:3 – Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures

1 Corinthians 15:4 – that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the
Scriptures

    Jesus Christ died for us. He took our place. He bore our judgement.

    Jesus Christ rose from the dead. He is alive! He is victorious. He wants to live in us!

3.    REPENT OF SIN AND INVITE CHRIST IN

    We turn away from sin and we turn to Him.

    The pathway to victory is when we take responsibility for our own sin and confess to God
and to others.

John 1:12 (NLT) – But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God.

    Believe + Receive = Become

How do we grow in a personal relationship with the God of the universe?

1.    SPEND TIME IN HIS PRESENCE

    Read the Word of God – His love letter to us

1 Peter 2:2 – As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby.

    Talk to the Lord in prayer – 1 Thessalonians 5:17 – Pray without ceasing

    Fill our days with worship

Colossians 3:23 – And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.

2.    SHARE HIS LOVE WITH OTHERS

Matthew 4:19 – Jesus said, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Matthew 10:8 – Freely you have received, freely give.

    We can know the Living God.  As we know Him we want to share Him with others.

2.    Are you growing in your relationship with Him? Why or why not?
3.    What is helping you grow in your relationship with Him?
4.    Is there anything that is hindering your growth in Him? What would it be?
5.    Are you uncomfortable sharing Jesus with others? Why or why not?
